RVSP:
How to calculate Left Atrial Pressure by Mitral Regurgitant Jet.
Obtain a CWD of the long axis view of the mitral valve. A mitral regurgitant jet is required to make this calculation. Once the flow profile of the CWD of the MR jet is obtained, the maximum velocity (Vmax) will represent the mitral valve gradient. Subtracting the mitral valve gradient from the systolic blood pressure will yield the LAP.
