Description: The pericardium and extracardiac chapter will cover the coronary artery anatomy and dominance, coronary artery anomalies, intracoronary air, the anatomy of the pericardium, the transvers and oblique sinuses of the pericardium, pericardial restraint, pericardial effusions, tamponade, constrictive pericarditis, and pleural effusions.
Objectives: At the completion of this chapter the user will be able to:

  • Describe Coronary Artery Anatomy and Dominance
  • Evaluate Coronary Artery Anomalies
  • Describe the Echocardiographic Appearance of Intracoronary Air in the Myocardium
  • Describe the Anatomy of the Pericardium
  • Indicate the Transverse Sinus and Oblique Sinus Echocardiographically
  • Describe Pericardial Restraint
  • Describe the Echocardiographic features of Pericardial Effusions, Tamponade, and Constrictive Pericarditis
  • Describe Pleural Effusions

8. Check your wrong answers by click on the View Wrong Answers Link on the grade exam page.
   
  If you exit the exam, the exam will be automatically saved. To resume the exam, just enter the same CME exam and if a saved exam exists, then it will be resumed at the point you left off. Also, when you log into e-echocardiography, all prior exams that you have passed or saved are listed. You will get CME credit on the first sucessful completion of the CME exam. You can take the exam as many times as you desire.
   
NOTE: The CME exams are typically not timed exams so the directions below do not apply. The Self-Assessment exams can be timed exams.
  If your exam is a timed exam, a timer will appear showing the total time left and, if your status bar is displayed, the exam time left will apprear there also.

If your exam is timed, you will have 60 seconds to answer the video question. If the video is set to be intermittent, the video will appear/disappear every 15 seconds. At the end of 60 seconds, you will be advanced to the next question. Therefore, for timed/video question, the Next Question and Previous Question and Grade Exam buttons will not appear.

At the bottom of the screen, a list of questions and your answers will be displayed. To go to a particular question, just click on the question number. If the question number does not appear as a link then you have either, not visited that question yet, or it is a video question in a timed exam. For timed, video questions, you cannot revisit the video questions.
